Lean Meat and produce – The most guaranteed way to lose body fat and get extremely toned.

Have u ever heard the saying, you are what you eat? It could not be anymore true! Your body breaks down the foods you eat and re-assimilates them as the same type of substances. In other words if you eat fat it becomes fat on your body, if you eat carbohydrates then they become stored carbohydrates on your body, or worse, converted to fat. Carbohydrate consumption leads your pancreas to produce insulin. Insulin is the most anabolic (growing) hormone which makes your body store excess fat and turns your body’s fat burning capability off during the time it’s present.  What foods have next to no carbohydrates or fat but are extremely healthy and required for survival?  Lean meat and produce!

The most effective answer to fat burning is to focus your diet heavily around lean meat and produce. Every nutritional reference guide shows that you can receive all of your required nutrients through meat and produce alone. Lean meat will become lean meat on your body and it’s extremely inefficient at producing anything other than lean meat on your body. High consumption of a variety of produce will fill your body with nutrients needed to carry out it’s vital processes. The story the lean meat and produce diet paints for you is that it’s your most effective and efficient route to become toned and healthy!

The information you have read is specifically for women over 18% body fat and men over 15% body fat to become very lean. Once you are very lean your nutritional needs will change to require additional healthy carbohydrates and fats.  I do suggest at least 5g a day of fish oil in conjunction with this nutritional plan.

Tiny and Tight

Almost all American women want in body shape and size comes down to what I call tiny and tight. Today we will dispel three extremely commons myths that almost every woman I talk to has about nutrition.

Myth 1: “Nuts, beans, or any other plant derived food are a great source of protein.”

PLEASE STOP TELLING ME THIS!!! No plant derived food is a great source of protein in terms of being tiny and tight. You have to eat hundreds of calories to get any more than 10g of protein in these plants derived sources of protein. To top of the extra hundreds of calories it is not a good source of muscle building protein. Many of these plants source proteins hold a high nutritional value but you will stay large thinking they are a good source of protein.

Myth 2: “I need to consume fat containing foods because they are part of required nutrients.”

If you have a body fat percentage under 18 to 20% this begins to be true. It will begin to be true for non-animal fats (animal fats = saturated fats are not a required nutrient). For the other 90% of our population that it’s over 20% body fat you have all the required fat you need hanging on to your body.  When you are over 20% body fat and trying to lose fat you only need a few grams a day of omega 3 fatty acids; your body will supply the rest.

Myth 3: “If you goal is fat loss you need to eat anything else other than lean meat and produce.”

Fitness Success Story – 66 yr old Male

I often get asked what it means to look, feel, and function your best. Today as I finished training one of my clients, I realized his story is an example of our motto in action. When we started he weighed 235 pounds, 29% bodyfat, very poor strength for how much he weighed, not flexible at all, was in poor cardio condition, and was on 3 separate blood pressure medications daily. He knew he needed to make a change but wasn’t able to commit to that change. That is where we come in. Our goal is to adapt to our clients needs. In this case that meant convenient access, expert guidance, and health focused mindset.

He is a 66 year old male who trains in the privacy of his own home, I show up there with equipment, and he doesn’t have to go anywhere – Convenient. We even do our nutrition consults during his work out sessions – Expertise. Our consults are nice easy conversations which helps in transitioning his thoughts to a healthy eating – Mindset.

I have been working with this client for one year now. He has now lost 20 pounds of body weight (loss 35 pounds of fat) and gained 15 pounds of muscle (avg muscle a 25yr old male gains in a yr of weight training is 5-6lbs). More importantly, we were able to get him healthy enough to stop taking all 3 blood pressure medications ($225/month in co-pays alone) We even had him tested at the Mayo clinic by team of doctors who say he has great blood pressure with Zero medication.

He is on his way to having the best body for him, one that looks, feels and functions the best, in his case that meant:

  • Look – Losing 35 pounds of Fat in 1 year
  • Feel – Like he is 20 years younger
  • Function - No more high blood pressure medications
